Good Morning Sunshine

Good Morning San Diego,

Well, did we wake up this after 4th of July morning with all our fingers and toes? Good for us. We finally learned that playing with matches actually does cause bodily harm. I hate it when Mom is always right. Even more when she said "I told you so.... now go get the Mercurochrome. Ooowchhhhhh!

After such a spectacularly colorful evening you would think that we would have an equally colorful sunrise. This shot is not black and white. This is what our city looked like at 6:00am today.

This is what it looked like last night. Star Spangled Patriots screaming and flares and gunshots and all. For more fireworks shots I took last night go to

Just click on the link above and you will be sent to my fireworks set on Flickr.

This shot was on the "other side of the hill" (not tracks) last night before we came home to see the "works" on our side of the hill.

Thanks to Gayle and Duncan for a great evening on Sunset Cliffs....

4th of July

A fourth of July Record

1 was a wide-awake little boy who rose with the break of day;

2 were the minutes he took to dress- then he was offf and away.

3 were his leaps when he cleared the stairs, although they were steep and high;

4 was the number which caused his haste, because it was Fourth of July!

5 were his pennies which went to buy a package of crackers red;

6 were the matches which touched them off and then - he was back in bed.

7 big plasters he had to wear to cure his fractures sore;

8 were the visits the doctor made, before he was whole one more.

9 were the dolorus days he spent in sorrow and pain; but then,

0 are the seconds he'll stop to think before he does it again.

Friday

Good Morning San Diego,
Ready for friends, frankfurters, and fireworks? You still have one day to find those illegal sparklers that you tucked away last year, leftover from that trip to an open firework county. Grab the kidletts, and grandma and come to San Diego bay for the best light show you will see anywhere. Ill see you there tomorrow.....
